Iphigenia reimagined as a working-class girl in Cardiff. Effi loves clubbing, drinking and posting sexy pics – she has a good time in the teeth of austerity and poverty – and she fights her fate. One night she meets Tom, who she thinks is the man of her dreams, but their liaison leads to disaster. The authority figures she should be able to rely on fail her spectacularly; interestingly they are female rather than male. Propulsive, absorbing social realism.

Please note, for this screening the venue will be set out in a "relaxed summer screening" layout with large circular tables and chairs rather than the usual raked seating. This allows for a cooler and more comfortable environment, with more space and more room for drinks and snacks, and hopefully means we don't have to have as much fan noise potentially spoiling the film. Why not enjoy a bottle of wine with the movie?

Seating capacity is reduced with this layout. You can still book online to ensure your seat, but seats will be unallocated and you'll choose your table on arrival.
