Sasha and her immigrant Hungarian family move to Vancouver Island in Canda in the late 1990s. Her eldest half-brother, Jeremy, is diagnosed with oppositional defiant disorder and makes the family’s life hell. This autobiographical film from the Canadian film maker Sophy Romvari asks quietly who is to blame for this – society, the family, or Jeremy himself?

Please note, for this screening the venue will be set out in a "relaxed summer screening" layout with large circular tables and chairs rather than the usual raked seating. This allows for a cooler and more comfortable environment, with more space and more room for drinks and snacks, and hopefully means we don't have to have as much fan noise potentially spoiling the film. Why not enjoy a bottle of wine with the movie?

Seating capacity is reduced with this layout. You can still book online to ensure your seat, but seats will be unallocated and you'll choose your table on arrival. Although if you have a particular seating request or any comments to make on this screening style, do email boxoffice@elycinema.org.uk in advance and we will see what we can do.
