Accessibility

.Wheelchair Access

The cinema is fully accessible to wheelchair users; with a ground level disabled toilet. The toilet is provided by the City of Ely Council team at the Maltings.

Space is available for wheelchairs at the front of the cinema seating area.

Limited Mobility Access

Seats are always available at the front of the cinema, before the raked seating begins, so that customers with limited mobility do not have to climb the stairs to access a seat.

CEA Cards

Customers who have a disability which means that they need a companion with them in the cinema can bring them free of charge with an official CEA Card when purchasing a ticket for themselves. For general information on the CEA Card scheme, please see their website https://www.ceacard.co.uk/.

The card can be used to book tickets online, or in person at the box office. Online tickets will attract a booking fee but not the CEA Card ticket.

To book online:

  1. On the seating plan, select the first seat and click on the ticket type "Adult/Senior/Child" (for most films, all seats are the same price). This seat will need to be paid for later in the booking process.
  2. Now select the second seat, and this time click on "Carer (with CEA Card)" as the ticket type..
  3. Having selected both seats click on "Add To Order" to confirm.
  4. On the checkout screen, both tickets will be shown at full price. Click on "Apply Discounts" and enter a valid CEA Card number. Click on "Apply" and the basket should now show that the CEA Card discount has been applied, and the total payable should now be equivalent to one full price seat and one booking fee for that seat.
  5. Click on "Continue" and complete the online purchasing process as normal.
  6. In case of any difficulties with the process please email boxoffice@elycinema.org.uk or purchase in person on the night.
  7. Unfortunately the box office system can only cope with one CEA card per transaction. If you require multiple CEA Card seats and have multiple CEA cards, please complete a new transaction for each pair of seats.

Audio Description and Induction Loops

Unfortunately, because the Maltings is not a purpose-built cinema we are unable to provide audio description or induction loops.

Guide Dogs

Guide dogs are welcome in the Cinema.

Relaxed Screenings

These screenings are designed to provide a welcoming and inclusive cinema experience - the sound is a little softer and the lights are left on low.  You can move around, talk or sing along as you wish.
